Shakhriyar Mamedyarov won the FIDE World Rapid Championship on Saturday in Khanty-Mansiysk. The grandmaster from Azerbaijan scored 11.5/15, after winning all five games on the final day. He finished half a point ahead of Ian Nepomniachtchi, the Russian grandmaster who was enjoying a two-point leader after ten rounds but only scored 2/5 on Saturday.
