GM Alexander Grischuk, well known to be even tougher as the time control shortens, won the Association of Chess Professionals Cup, a rapid event (G/25+10). The tournament took place from September 13-15, 2013 in Riga, the capital of Latvia.
Sixteen grandmasters were invited for the knockout event, meaning Grischuk had to win four head-to-head matches in his quest for first place.
