Krikor Mekhitarian finished clear first at the 7th Varna Open. The Brazilian grandmaster scored 7.5/9 (a 2627 performance), which was a full point more than a group of nine players. The tournament took place June 19th-27th in Varna, the largest city and seaside resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. The 15th Chess Olympiad was held in Varna in 1962. Here's the website.
